Covid-19: Mykonos Says Goodbye to Curfew, Music Ban
The additional restrictive measures on the island of Mykonos, imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) on the island, were lifted on Monday, July 26.
It is reminded that since July 17 the Greek government had imposed an overnight curfew (1am to 6am) and a 24-hour music ban on the popular Greek island after Covid-19 cases quadrupled in just one week.
According to the Greek authorities, the measures managed to partially stop the further spread of the virus and the exponential increase of cases.
Authorities have warned that if more similar outbreaks are recorded on other islands, local restrictions will be applied with measures similar to those announced for Mykonos.
What a relief to know Mykanos can have music again. Mykanos will always be the party island.
So Mykonos was temporarily freed of noise pollution, but now it’s back to “normal”. Poor Mykonos. Lost for ever. Or at least till the next and imminent wave of covid.
