Registration Open for Athens Half Marathon 2021 Event

Registration is open for the Athens Half Marathon 2021 event that is scheduled to take place in the Greek capital on September 12.

Organized by the Hellenic Athletics Federation (SEGAS) and the City of Athens Sports, Culture and Youth Organization (OPANDA), the half-marathon event will be held after a year of absence due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“After concluding the last refund requests due to the cancellation of the 2020 event and assessing the deferred entries from last year’s edition, the Organizing Committee has decided to start the registration period with limited entries,” the organizers said in an announcement.

Registration is open on the event’s official website at www.athinahalfmarathon.gr.

Runners with deferred entries (from last year’s canceled event) will automatically receive their new registration confirmation with all relevant information.

Covid-19 Health Protocols

The Athens Half Marathon event will apply all the safety rules announced by the Greek National Public Health Organization, as well as the “Road Races Staging Health Protocol” that is regularly reviewed by the Sports Ministry Health Committee.

According to the Health Protocol, only fully vaccinated runners and runners carrying proof of recovery from Covid-19 can register and participate in the event. The vaccination certificate and recovery document must be issued up to 15 days before the collection of the runners’ kit (on September 11).
