GNTO Holding Webinars to Promote Greece to Foreign Tourism Professionals
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) is planning to promote 10 Greek destinations to tourism professionals from The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg through 10 webinars to be held until March 2022.
The 12-month program started in April with the promotion of Halkidiki, northern Greece, in collaboration with the Halkidiki Tourism Organization, and continued in May with a presentation on Crete in partnership with the Region of Crete.
According to an announcement by the GNTO, the webinars were attended by 140 participants.
Under the title “Five reasons to visit the destination”, the webinars promoted the special thematic experiences and the activities offered in the two destinations, and highlighted their authenticity through the narrations of locals.
The webinars also offered insight on the health protocols and travel safety measures applied in Greece to protect travelers against the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Futhermore, foreign tour operators received information on the current trends, as well as on the travel products and promotional packages available for each destination.
Next on the GNTO’s agenda are the Ionian Islands. The organization on June 8 will hold a webinar for the islands of Corfu, Zakynthos and Kefallonia with the cooperation of the Ionian Islands Region and local hotel associations.
In addition, the GNTO will host webinars about the following destinations:
- Kos – September 7
- Volos and Pelion – October 5
- Epirus – November 4
- Rhodes – December 7
- Northeastern Aegean islands (Samos, Lesvos and Chios) – January 25)
- Central Macedonia – February 22 and
- Athens – Attica – March 3.
The webinars are taking place on the GNTO’s specialized online platform “Link to Greece”.
