GNTO Upgrades Info Point for Tourists in Greece at Athens Airport

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis and GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has upgraded its tourism info point at the arrivals area of the Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.

Renovated in accordance with the highest standards, the new hospitable office is decorated with photos from the GNTO’s new tourism campaign “All you want is Greece”. The photos are on display on large backlit boards, promoting the light and colors of Greece.

“It is very significant that after 10 years the GNTO is again operating its information office at Athens International Airport,” Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said during the opening of the new info point earlier this week.

According to Theoharis, among other things, the info point will offer visitors information on the health protocols applied in Greece for Covid-19, as well as all they need to know about the country’s tourism offerings.

“People wish to learn about Greece’s health protocols – the measures that are in effect and the obligations of travelers… and also receive information on how to travel to the islands and get to know Greece,” he added.

The minister also referred to the Visit Greece application for mobile phones that launched last year to provide visitors with detailed information on staying in Greece in the post-Covid-19 era.

The GNTO’s new info point was renovated with the highest standards and according to the latest health protocols to ensure the protection and safety of both its employees and the public.

“Apart from the promotion of Greece’s campaign abroad, the GNTO is responsible for preserving the country’s image during the arrival of visitors at Greece’s largest airport. We are ready to welcome international travelers to our new modern operational space, which will serve people with safety,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

Also present at the info point’s opening event was GNTO General Director Sofia Lazaridou.
