The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) has included two virtual events under its auspices, promoting the popular destinations of Thessaloniki and Crete.

Following a decision by GNTO President Angela Gerekou, the organization is supporting the tourism conference Agritourism on Crete, scheduled to take place on May 9, as well as the 1st CΟΝΝΕCT Tourism & Travel Event Thessaloniki to be held during May 11-12.

“These are two significant events that will take place a few days before the official start of the tourism season in Greece, with the aim to promote the special forms of tourism offered in the two destinations,” an announcement by the GNTO said.

According to the Organization, the online conference Agritourism on Crete is organized by the Pancretan Association of Europe and Agroxenia, a non-profit organization promoting agritourism, as part of the events for the European Week of Hamburg.

Its aim is to promote the potential of agritourism for Crete and the opportunity it offers to visitors to connect with nature through agricultural activities, local culture and products, and gastronomy.

In addition, the 1st CΟΝΝΕCT Tourism & Travel Event Thessaloniki is organized by the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB) with the support of the Central Macedonia Region with the aim to promote Thessaloniki, enhance entrepreneurship and promote the tourism businesses of the northern port city and the wider Central Macedonia region through two events:

– the “Thessaloniki, city break & MICE destination” event on May 11, and
– the “Alternative tourism in Central Macedonia” event on May 12.

The events will take place on a special online platform which will allow international hosted buyers to conduct B2B meetings with suppliers from Thessaloniki and the wider region.

Furthermore, the platform will offer a digital tour to the area’s points of attraction through a live broadcast.
