7th Greek Maritime Golf Event to Take Place in September at Costa Navarino

The Greek Maritime Golf Event, the renowned golf tournament for the Greek and world shipping industry, is returning to Costa Navarino, in Messinia, during September 3-5.

In its seventh year, the tournament will bring representatives of the Greek and world shipping industry together at a safe destination, after having received the necessary approvals of the Health Scientific Committee of the General Secretariat of Sports and taking into account strict specifications set by the Hellenic Golf Federation.

The event is expected to bring together more than 80 leading shipping executives, forming 20 teams of four. Participants will compete at a team level, in a shotgun scramble that will take place on Saturday, September 4.

Golfers will have the chance to play in the two signature 18-hole courses, The Dunes Course and The Bay Course, in an idyllic landscape full of centuries-old olive trees with stunning views of the Ionian Sea, the historic Bay of Navarino and the picturesque port of Pylos.

Participating teams will claim significant prizes for the top three positions in the overall standings; while special awards will be given to individual players who will achieve the best scores in the “Longest Drive” and “Closest to the Pin” categories.

The Greek Maritime Golf Event is organized by Birdie Events, through an initiative of renowned Greek PGA golfer Thanos Karantzias. “After successfully and safely holding our event in 2020 at the Golf Course of Glyfada, under the strict health measures we had set against the pandemic, we are now making plans for September at Costa Navarino to hold the Greek Maritime Golf Event,” Karantzias said in an announcement.
