Qatar Airways to Resume Flights to Mykonos for Summer 2021

Qatar Airways on Wednesday announced that it is resuming its service from Doha to Mykonos, Greece, for the summer season.

The airline will fly its modern twin-engine, fuel-efficient A320 aircraft three times a week starting May 14 – the same day of the opening of Greek tourism – connecting Mykonos with over 35 cities in Asia and the Middle East. The A320 aircraft features 12 seats in Business Class and 120 seats in Economy Class.

“We first started flying to Mykonos in May 2018 and the route proved very popular with our customers. Due to the global pandemic, we had to suspend services last summer so we are really delighted to be returning helping support Greece’s efforts to restart tourism,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker.

Flight QR 311 will depart Doha every Monday, Friday and Saturday at 07:30, arriving at Mykonos at 12:05. The return flight, QR 312, departs Mykonos the same days at 13:05, arriving in Doha at 17:05. All times are local.

“We know the authorities in Greece are taking precautions to ensure public safety and visitors will be required to adhere to public health measures put in place in view of the pandemic. Equally we will be maintaining our own very high standards,” Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive added.

Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis welcomed the news.

“In this difficult time this development comes when all of our efforts have been put into the safe opening of Greek tourism. ‘All you want is Greece’ is our new motto and with this, we invite friends of Qatar Airways, from all over the world, to visit us,” he added.

Qatar Airways recently became the first global airline in the world to achieve the prestigious 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by international air transport rating organisation, Skytrax.
