Hotels Chamber Launches #filoxeniaMoU Greek Hospitality Action
The Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) has announced the launch of a month-long initiative dedicated to the importance of hospitality in restoring the tourism industry in the aftermath of the Covid-19.
Titled #filoxeniaMoU, which means “My Hospitality”, the initiative will run through March and will focus on three key areas: dialogue with stakeholders on the importance of hospitality in the economy, employment, regional development and social cohesion; a digital campaign to inform and raise public awareness about the impact of hospitality on daily life; an online discussion with institutional representatives and experts about the “next day” and the leading role of hospitality in Greece’s post-Covid recovery.
“Investing in hospitality is a prerequisite for rapid and sustainable economic and social development throughout Greece, with benefits for all Greeks. That is why it must be at the top of the National Reconstruction Plan,” said the chamber in an announcement.
The HCH invites all members and all interested parties to participate in the initiative. More info is available on filoxeniamou.gr, where the HCH also presents its proposals for the ‘day after’.
“Hospitality is Greece, it is us. Every euro that ‘philoxenia’ produces has multiple benefits for the economy, employment, society,” said HCH President Alexandros Vassilikos, adding that hospitality and tourism should be at the top of the National Reconstruction Plan for recovery after Covid-19.
