Greek Hoteliers Want Rapid Testing for Staff and Guests
Hoteliers in Greece are proposing on-the-spot rapid testing to be conducted on employees and guests in efforts to ensure that the possibility of Covid-19 spread is under control.
In a letter to the country’s health and tourism ministers and to president of the National Public Health Organization (EODY), the Hellenic Hoteliers Federation (POX) is requesting that hotels be able to carry out tests on their premises and called on the government to simplify procedures for the provision of leave absences to employees if found to be Covid-19 positive.
POX underlines that the proposed actions, which are “cost-free and simple to implement, will help hotels ensure seamless operation as well as add an extra layer of protection for employees and guests”.
“In this way it will be possible to identify and record the cases faster and therefore, always according to EODY guidelines, take immediate precautionary and protection measures in order to reduce the risk of spread,” said POX.
Currently, Greek hotels are required to cooperate with a medical doctor as well as provide the details of visitors.
Will a Covid-19 card showing the person presenting the card has been vaccinated be enough so that no rapid test is necessary?
