Square Lime Hospitality Management Expects 2021 Travel Demand for Greece to Rise
Although 2021 will still be a difficult year for the tourism and hospitality industry due to the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Greek company Square Lime expects the demand for travel to eventually pick up, especially for Greece.
Square Lime is a premium hospitality management and marketing company in Greece that has a collection of luxury villas & boutique hotels in its portfolio.
“2020 was a very challenging year for the travel industry… The hotel sector, specifically, faced a huge decrease in demand and many units that managed to open even for a short time had to proceed to a price differentiation and several other cost cuts,” Vassilis Lapanaitis, owner of Square Lime, says.
According to Lapanaitis, Square Lime properties went opposite to the trend and managed to achieve different and positive results.
“Square Lime’s properties differentiated by achieving the highest ADR and RevPar ratios in their destinations. All Square Lime properties focused on maintaining the highest possible EBIDTA, while at the same time, achieved the highest scores in the online reputation and the guest satisfaction indexes,” he said.

Referring to frequent discussions of Square Lime with its partner agents around the world, Lapanaitis said he predicts that demand for travel will rise for Greece.
“Until now, of course, this is not depicted in reservations, but such predisposition will form the basis for the Greek tourism’s vivid future the next day,” he said.
Lapanaitis highlighted that until the “next day” arrives, Square Lime’s response will be based on three elements: trust, innovation and detail & tactics.
“Hotels need to define their scope of business in a broader way, understanding that they do not just offer accommodation and experiences,” he said.
Square Lime is selective on the properties it adds to its portfolio, aiming to maintain and even improve the highest standards of management it provides to its partners in all aspects (Marketing, Online/Offline Sales, Reservations, Yielding/Revenue Management, Operations Consultancy, Financial Monitoring, Project Development & Management).
