American Airlines Announces Athens-New York Route for Summer 2021

American Airlines, as of June 3, will launch a new service connecting Athens with New York, JFK airport, for the 2021 summer season.

Flights, to be conducted on a Boeing 777-200, will be available for purchase beginning January 25.

Onboard customers can choose to travel in Flagship Business, Premium Economy or Main Cabin. Wifi and inflight entertainment are available throughout the aircraft.

“We are looking forward to launching our new route between New York and Athens, which will offer enhanced connectivity between these two great cities,” said Tom Lattig, vice president EMEA sales and distribution, American Airlines.

“The safety and comfort of our customers and team is always our top priority and we look forward to serving our passengers on this popular business and leisure route,” he added.

American’s new route to Athens marks a significant milestone as part of the new strategic alliance between JetBlue and American Airlines Group Inc. The partnership offers customers enhanced connectivity and access to the biggest network in the Northeast. This alliance will be integral for both carriers as they rebuild operations in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It should be mentioned that The US airline has introduced VeriFLY, a platform that offers an easy way to provide results from a negative coronavirus test and other completed documents required for all international travel destinations inbound to the United States.

American has also achieved a GBAC STAR accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) for its entire fleet of aircraft and Admirals Club lounges.
