Attica Group Voted ‘Passenger Line of the Year’ at Lloyd’s List Awards 2020
Attica Group, the parent company of Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries and Hellenic Seaways and Africa Morocco Link, has been named “Passenger Line of the Year” at the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards 2020.
Every year the Lloyd’s List Greek Shipping Awards honor individuals and companies for their achievements within the Greek shipping community. The judging committee consists of experts representing different sectors of Greek shipping.
The award was received by Attica Group CEO Spiros Paschalis during a recent event held online held by Lloyd’s List.
The Attica Group was awarded for successfully handling the health issues that occurred as a result of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and the tireless efforts of its over 2,000 employees on shore and at sea. It is noted that Bureau Veritas has certified each of Attica Group’s vessels with the Safeguard label for implementing special measures and procedures to prevent infections.
Since the start of the pandemic, the group’s companies have carried over 2.4 million passengers.
Attica Group was also honored for connecting mainland Greece with the islands during the pandemic, and ensuring the uninterrupted transport of residents and essential goods.
In addition, the group was awarded for its commitment to responsibility and sustainability as well as its focus on social welfare.
Attica Group operates a fleet of 32 vessels offering high-quality and reliable transportation services for passengers and cargo with modern and technologically advanced vessels.
It offers a network of 60 destinations, connecting 71 ports, both in the domestic and international market (Greece – Italy and Morocco – Spain).
The group’s vessels carry over 7 million passengers, 1 million passenger vehicles and 400,000 trucks every year (2019 data).
