Saudia Airlines to Resume Flights to Athens from Jeddah in January 2021
Saudia Airlines has announced that it will resume flights from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Athens, Greece, as of January 2021.
Launching on January 1, the Athens – Jeddah route will run three times a week, every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
All flights will be carried out on an Airbus A320 aircraft, which offers full-flat bed in Business class.
“Even with the second wave of pandemic and the frequently updated travel restrictions; we are trying our best to satisfy the expected demand between Greece and Saudi Arabia during January 2021,” Fahad A. Almuhaysin, Saudia Airlines Manager in Italy and Greece, told GTP Headlines.
The Athens – Jeddah route will operate initially until January 16. Saudia will announce its further operational plan at a later stage.
Flights are open for sales on the airline’s website and all other point of sales.
It is noted that travel restrictions are in force due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) as per updated bulletins by authorities.
As for now, travel from Greece to Saudi Arabia is allowed for Saudi National passengers and non-Saudi passengers holding a valid visa (exit/re-entry visa, work visa, visit visa or residence/iqamah) to/from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Entry requirements
– All non-Saudi citizen passengers travelling into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are obliged to present a negative Covid-19 test result (PCR) from a verified laboratory abroad and performed up to 72 hours before arrival. Exempt from the PCR test requirement are children below eight years with due consideration to the procedures applicable at the country of departure on conduct testing for children.
– Filling up the Health Disclaimer Form (will be distributed onboard).
– All passengers will be subject to home quarantine for two days, followed by a PCR test at the end of the period.
– If passenger does not provide a PCR test as required, the quarantine will continue for seven days.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has suspended the entry of travelers coming from India, Brazil and Argentina, including any person who has been in any of the three countries in the last 14 days prior to their arrival to the Kingdom.
Exempt from the aforementioned restrictions are passengers who have official government invitations.
