Olympia Golden Beach Resort & Spa Receives Travelife Gold Award
The Olympia Golden Beach Resort & Spa, located in Kastro-Kyllini in the Peloponnese, has received the Travelife Gold Award for its sustainable tourism practices.
The Travelife certification is an internationally recognized award scheme for hotels and other tourism-related businesses, which have attained high standards of environmental management and social responsibility.
Travelife supports its members in their efforts to develop sustainable practices and promote their achievements within the international travel community and among consumers.
In an announcement, the Olympia Golden Beach Resort & Spa stated that it has worked hard to meet Travelife’s criteria.
“The responsible environmental management and the proper social policy are as important to the Olympia Golden Beach Resort & Spa as the satisfaction of its visitors. The use of environmentally friendly products, the recycling of materials, the continuous training of our employees in order to work in a responsible manner, and the protection of human rights, are only some of our initiatives,” the hotel’s General Manager and CEO Andreas Bratis said.
According to Bratis, the resort has significantly enhanced its cooperation with local suppliers, producers and manufacturers in order to provide its visitors with a more authentic local dining experience and share the economic benefits of its operation with as many businesses as possible in the greater region.
The five-star resort has also managed to reduce CO2 emissions from transportation and cooperates with the municipality for recycling facilities and pavement resurfacing and donates items that are no longer suitable for use within the resort to local organisations.
Moreover, the resort has employed 80 percent of its workforce from the local community.
The Olympia Golden Beach Resort & Spa has 56 rooms, including a suite and a villa, and offers a broad range of amenities and facilities.
