GNTO Presents the Way Greece Opened for Tourism Amidst Covid-19
Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis presented the measures adopted by Greek authorities for the safe opening of Greek tourism in summer 2020, during an online meeting of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
Held on October 21, the meeting took place with the participation of WTTC President and CEO Gloria Guevara, and the Council’s members, Matthew Upchurch, CEO of Virtuoso – the global network of luxury travel agents and Christine Duffy, president of US-based cruise company Carnival Cruise.
Fragakis presented the roadmap implemented by the Greek government for the safe opening of Greek tourism to international travelers; the health protocols adopted by tourism enterprises; the initiatives undertaken to strengthen Greece’s National Health System; and the Covid-19 testing process at the country’s entry points.
The GNTO’s secretary general also referred to the campaigns Greece has been running abroad since April, and to the organization’s strategy for 2021.
In addition, he stressed the need for better cooperation between countries and in the tourism industry for the prevention of Covid-19.
