Amadeus has launched a cruise portal offering new content, more choice and enhanced technology to automate the booking process for travel sellers.

According to the travel company, while most cruise lines continue to recover from the impact of COVID-19, consumer interest in sailing and the demand for cruise travel in 2021 is on the rise with bookings being made up to 18 months in advance.

The company has launched its Amadeus Cruise Portal, which features more content, functionality and packages for all types of travel agencies booking cruise.

“The new tool will provide much-needed value with its state-of-the-art technology. Also, the continuous investment by our global team of cruise industry experts will ensure travel sellers can provide optimum cruise journeys in 2021 and beyond,” said Flavio Mesquita, Senior Vice President, Retail Travel Agencies, Americas at Amadeus.

This global solution is available now in the United States and Canada. It will be introduced in the UK and Ireland at the end of the year, and then progressively rolled out to other markets.

Using this tool, agents will have access to bookable content from 30+ cruise lines which is almost double to what was previously offered. They can upsell pre-and post-cruise content such as air, hotel, transfers or insurance and easily offer cruise upgrades and amenities to boost revenues and efficiencies.

The Amadeus Cruise Portal integrates with the Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, which allows it to be accessed from anywhere on any device at any given time, regardless of the GDS affiliation.

For travel agencies looking to reduce cost and save time in building their own customized application, Amadeus offers two more versions of the Cruise Portal: Standard White Label and Premium.

The Standard White Label version offers B2B and B2C interfaces, dynamic packaging for those who purchase air, customer branding, user and rules management, and cruise line preferencing.

The Premium White Label offers all the features of the standard version, along with cruise groups management, exchange rate module, insurance add-on, as well as a payment gateway integration, all custom built.
