Greece Presented to US Travel Agents at ASTA’s Virtual Event
Greece’s tourism offerings were presented to US travel agents during the annual global convention of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA).
The event was originally scheduled to take place in Washington but, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it was transformed into a virtual event and held under the name ASTA Global Live (AGL) during August 25-28.
Greece took part in the AGL event under the cooperation of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FedHATTA) with ASTA.
The online event included presentations, speeches, educational meetings and a digital exhibition. It provided ASTA’s members – travel agencies and tour operators operating in the US market and around the world – with information on the latest trends in the global tourism market.
During the ASTA Global Live event, the Greek participation held a “Virtual Embassy Tour” and offered ASTA members information on the country’s new developments and latest trends in attractions, food, culture and more.
On its part, FedHATTA presented a video of Greek destinations to ASTA members and offered insight on Greece’s thematic tourism products including gastronomy, wine tasting, cruise, yachting, activities, culture, incentives and MICE.
Moreover, the Greek National Tourism Organization hosted dozens of B2B meetings in its digital kiosk, while its tourism experts answered questions regarding the Covid-19 measures that are in effect in Greece, and gave information on Greek destinations and alternative forms of tourism.
Participants of AGL were also provided with digital material on select Greek regions and destinations including Attica, the South Aegean, Crete and Thessaloniki.
