GNTO Looks to Upgrade Digital Services for Greek Tourism
The use of new technologies and information systems, as well as the upgrade of the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) operating procedures, were among the issues discussed during a recent meeting between the organization’s president, Angela Gerekou, and Digital Governance Secretary General Leonidas Christopoulos.
According to an announcement, the GNTO is aiming to further simplify its operating procedures in order for Greece’s tourism sector to be able to immediately and efficiently manage potential crises.
“We need to create a data-driven organization… Our goal is to achieve the best possible results in order to manage the needs of inbound and domestic tourism by creating modern campaigns, a registry for tourism professionals, a digital tourism map, new products and updated information for today’s traveler,” Gerekou said during the meeting.
She added that the GNTO is collecting data through collaborations with organizations and Greek universities, in order to ensure the reliability of information and ensure its protection.
