Greece Attends First Expo After Covid-19 Lockdown
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) presented Greece’s alternative forms of tourism during the TourNatur 2020 international exhibition held in Düsseldorf, Germany, during September 4-6.
TourNatur was the first event that the GNTO attended since the Covid-19 lockdown in March. It took place in parallel with the Caravan Salon outdoor motor tourism exhibition and was considered a success since the two events attracted a total of 42,000 attendees.
“The high number of visitors and tourism professionals [that attended TourNatur] may lead to the organization of other exhibitions and it passes on the message that attending such events can be safe, if strict measures are in place,” said Jarle Sänger, representative of Wandermagazin, one of the most significant magazines for outdoor tourism in Germany.
The Tour Natur organizers meticulously applied all the necessary Covid-19 hygiene and safety rules in all areas of the exhibition venue.
TourNatur 2020 brought together nature lovers and fans of alternative tourism activities. Apart from Greece, the expo also hosted many regions from Germany, Spain, Italy and Austria.
Greece presented a vast array of outdoor activities such as walking and cycling and promoted many destinations.
GNTO’s stand hosted the Region of South Aegean, the island of Samos and the Municipality of Aristotle in Halkidiki.
