Belgium Updates Travel Advisory for Greece

Belgium revised on Monday its travel advisory for Greece, including the country on its orange list, which involves non-essential travel under “increased vigilance”.

According to a Belgian foreign ministry announcement, Greece, together with dozens of other countries, including France and Germany, has been moved to the orange zone from the previous “travel is possible” green list due to a surge in Covid-19 infections this month.

Under the new restrictions, Belgium is strongly advising travelers coming from Greece to self-isolate, test for Covid-19, and to complete the mandatory return form (Passenger Locator Form).

Meanwhile, bracing for what appears to be a second wave of the deadly coronavirus crisis, a number of countries, including Finland, Norway and Estonia, revised their travel restrictions last week, applying to travelers out of Greece and imposing a quarantine requirement.

Two of Europe’s largest tour operators, TUI and Aurinkomatkat, also said last week that they would be canceling their trips to Greek destinations following the Finnish government’s decision to reinstate travel restrictions.

* Country regulations concerning admission and quarantine restrictions are subject to change after 10-14 days, when renewed assessments are made based on epidemiological data from country of origin.

It’s really like playing hide and seek. Am at a loss whether to stay at home or chance a holiday. At 85 one never knows if I should stay put. This one day it’s ok a week later not ok very frustrating.

If there was a requirement for all visitors to the Greek islands to wear masks from them time they arrive it would lessen the chance of them infecting us…but at present we feel like telling all tourists NOT to come here !
