Air Europa Resumes Athens-Madrid Direct Route Operations

Spanish airline Air Europa has announced that it will resume its direct route connecting Athens to Madrid as of Thursday, July 16.

The Athens-Madrid route will operate two times per week, every Thursday and Sunday.

According to an announcement, Air Europa considers 2020 an important year because it has come to stay in the Greek market, as its flights are now regular on a year round basis and not seasonal.

Safety measures by Air Europa

Air Europa has reinforced its strict safety measures and has adopted new ones, fully in line with the protocols and recommendations of EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) and AESA (Agency State of Air Safety) to curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19). The measures applied by the airline can be seen here.

Arriving in Spain

As part of the health surveillance and control work being carried out in Spain to prevent the entry of infectious diseases, the Spanish health authorities are carrying out a “control on arrival” that includes the collection of passenger data. All passengers arriving in Spain from other countries are required to complete the Ministry of Health form prior to travel and have it available on arrival to hand over to Spain’s health authority when required.

Further information for passengers arriving to Spain can be found here.

Part of the Globalia Group, the largest Spanish tourism conglomerate, Air Europa is a member of the SkyTeam alliance.

The airline is represented in Greece by TAL Aviation.
