Britain has included Greece on the list of countries to and from which travelers can enter the UK without entering 14-day isolation.

British Transport Secretary Grant Shapps had initialy said that the US and Greece would not be on the list, citing lack of reciprocity on the part of Greece, referring to an aviation directive (NOTAM) issued by Greece on Tuesday, extending a previous suspension of all flights to and from the UK until July 15.

On Friday afternoon, the country’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) updated its global advisory against “all but essential” travel, exempting destinations that no longer pose an unacceptably high risk for British travellers. Greece was included on FCO’s final list.

Greece is traditionally a favorite holiday destination for British travelers, many of whom either have holiday homes in the country or return each year.

Question for all… does anyone know if when arriving from the UK in August if there will be mandatory self isolation? The details on the PLF form say that the testing etc will be dependent on the QR code that you are issued. Any help would be really appreciated! thanks

You will have to self isolate for 14 days if someone on your flight tests positive. Also, arrivals from the UK have higher chances to be tested.

Come on Greece do the right thing we want to come and you want us to come so please make an announcement that we can come as soon as possible

It is an illusion to believe that Greece wants large in-flows of tourists this year. The QR code system is designed to politely tell you off as the authorities have the public health system first in mind, and rightly so. Greece has virtually put an end to the tourist season this year with the introduction of the opaque QR Code, counting on the zillions of euros that the European Commission will borrow and distribute to overcome the dreadful economic situation of tourists enterprises.

Greece if you want us British to come and spend money in your country you really need to confirm quickly we can come from the 15th and you won’t extend the ban again last minute or all the Brits will just book to go to Spain instead.
