Astypalea’s Kallichoron Hotel Offers Stylish Face Masks to its Guests
In efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Astypalea’s Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel has joined forces with Waterbags to provide its guests with stylish resusable face masks.
Waterbags offers a collection of eco-friendly bags whose sales revenue fund programs on education, culture and health care. The company recently launched a collection of limited edition reusable face masks under the name “Watermasks”. The stylish masks are curated by Greek and international artists with the aim to support remote areas of Greece.
Through its Corporate Social Responsibility program “Room2Give”, Kallichoron bought 300 “Watermasks” that will be offered to its guests free of charge. The “Watermasks” limited edition is completed with drawings made by elementary and high school students.
With the purchase of each “Watermask”, a face protection mask is donated to support the work of doctors and nurses of the Medical Centers operating on the Greek islands. Therefore, Kallichoron has requested that a total of 300 surgical masks and 10 face shields be donated to the Regional Clinic of Astypalea.
Made of 100% cotton, the “Watermasks” are easy to wash at 60 degrees Celsius. They are also available for purchase, along with the “Waterbags”, at Kallichoron’s shop.
“The responsible model of operation with environmental and social sensitivity has become a trend for businesses in the tourism industry. Travelers are not just seeking for a place to stay, but an overall experience that does not burden the environment and offers to the local community. For us at Kallichoron Art Boutique Hotel, this has become a way of life,” said Maria Mavroudi, co-founder of the hotel.
Kallichoron opened its doors for the summer season on June 29, and is operating under the strict health protocols imposed by the Greek government in the post-COVID-19 era.
