<Trave/Scrum> is organizing its first global ideation hackathon to bring the travel and tourism community the platform it needs to come together and build solutions to the global crisis.
A non-profit movement fusing all layers and skill sets in the travel and tourism industries, <Trave/Scrum> looks to harness talent and technology driven solutions to light the path to a better tomorrow.
The global ideation hackathon will take place online during June 11-14, aimed at providing a platform for talented people to showcase their ideas to improve the world of travel of tomorrow and be recognized in the process.
Participants will have 72 hours to collaborate in teams and build solutions tackling 1 or more of the challenges. Six awards winners will be celebrated.
“With 10% of the world’s GDP, 330 million jobs at stake and one-third of the jobs lost due to the Covid-19 pandemic (according to WTTC), the Travel and Tourism industry is at a turning point and needs immediate action,” <Trave/Scrum> said in an announcement.
According to Gene Quinn, co-founder of <Trave/Scrum>, a list of accomplished industry experts have signed up as mentors and judges.
“We expect participants to deliver innovative, implementable and impactful projects for the industry, spread across three challenges: Health and Hygiene, Travel & Experiences and Sustainability & Relief,” Quinn said.
The ideation hackathon will aim to give innovators, industry leaders, technology & business leaders from all over the world the opportunity to engage, act together as a community.
Speaking about the motivation behind the initiative, Florian Mesny, co-founder of <Trave/Scrum>, said: “We want to mobilize talented people, mentors, companies, experts to #JoinTheScrum and take action.
