New Air Routes Connect Greece with Major European Markets

Fraport Greece on Tuesday said that airlines have immediately responded to the restart of Greece’s tourism market, by continuing already established routes as well as by announcing new ones, connecting the country’s regional airports with important European markets.

According to an announcement by the company, airlines Volotea and Wizz Air have already announced new routes connecting to some of the most popular destinations in Greece.

“We will continue to work closely with the airlines, state and local authorities so as we together put Greek tourism back on track,” Fraport Greece Executive Director of Commercial and Business Development George Vilos said.

Volotea

Volotea has announced the following new routes:

Mykonos – Herakleion (twice a week)
Thessaloniki – Herakleion (twice a week)
Thessaloniki – Mykonos (twice a week)
Thessaloniki – Santorini (twice a week)
Corfu – Athens (four times a week until the end of July, and daily for the remainder of the summer season)

Volotea is also set to restart already established routes, connecting:

Santorini – Athens (31 flights a week)
Mykonos – Athens (28 flights a week)
Rhodes – Athens (7 flights a week)

Wizz Air

Wizz Air has included the following new routes:

Corfu – Luton (twice a week)
Corfu – Vienna (twice a week)
Rhodes – Luton (twice a week)
Rhodes – Vienna (twice a week)
Rhodes – Tirana (twice a week)
Zakynthos – Luton (twice a week)
Zakynthos – Vienna (twice a week)

Wizz Air continues the following routes:

Thessaloniki – Budapest (twice a week)
Thessaloniki – Kiev (3 times a week)
Thessaloniki – Kutaisi (twice weekly)
Thessaloniki – Luton (twice weekly)
Thessaloniki – Vienna (4 times a week)
Corfu – Budapest (twice weekly)
Corfu – Warsaw (weekly)
Rhodes – Budapest (twice a week)
Zakynthos – Budapest (weekly)

International flights to and from Thessaloniki Airport “Makedonia” are expected to commence on June 15. International flights to and from all other airports are expected to commence on July 1st.
