Coronavirus Makes Greece Stop Flights to Northern Italy
The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) on Monday announced the temporary suspension of all flights to northern Italy from Greece, as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
The HCAA said it took the decision after “prioritizing passenger and flight safety” and following the guidelines of the Greek Health Ministry and the National Public Health Organization (EODY).
The suspension will remain in place until Monday, March 23, and applies to all airports in Northern Italy and in particular to the regions of Emilia Romagna, Piedmont, Lombardy and Veneto.
“The suspension of flights to and from Northern Italy applies to all Greek airports and all airlines,” the HCAA said.
