Patra Carnival Revelry Live at Athens Airport

The city of Patra and its popular carnival festivities, on February 21, will be on show at Athens International Airport’s (AIA) departure area.

Patra is the 12th destination of AIA’s “Fly me to the Moon-Sounds Greek to Me!” program that aims to promote Greece to travelers through images and special experiences.

The airport has dedicated the day to the traditions of Patra, the city’s carnival events and fine local recipes.

During the event, the Queen of the Patra Carnival and a group of carnivalists dressed in various costumes, will entertain the airport’s passengers and visitors with their festive mood and sweet treats.

The Patra Carnival is Greece’s largest and oldest carnival celebration. This year’s theme is dedicated to happiness.

The events will take place at AIA’s departures level – entrance 3, on February 21, from 12am to 4pm.

“Fly me to the Moon” is a joint initiative of Athens International Airport and the elculture cultural platform which takes place for the sixth consecutive year.
