Makedonia Palace’s Salonica Restaurant Scoops Toques d’Or Award

The “Salonica Restaurant” in the Makedonia Palace Hotel has been honored with a “Toques d’Or” (Golden Chef’s Cap) award for the high-end dining experiences it offers guests.

According to an announcement, Salonica was the first restaurant in Thessaloniki to receive a “Toque d’Or” award, achieving a score of 15/20 points.

Held annually in Greece by Athinorama and AlphaGuide magazines, the “Toques d’Or” evaluate and reward the country’s restaurants for their performance in high cuisine. Food connoisseurs, industry leaders, brand ambassadors and gastronomy authors submit their nominations and ultimately vote for the finest, most creative cuisines.

This year, 28 restaurants received 70 “Toques d’Or” awards.

“Salonica’s award-winning chef Sotiris Evaggelou offers Greek cuisine with his own culinary footprint,” the management of Makedonia Palace Hotel said in an announcement.

According to the hotel’s management, the restaurant since its inception has become a point of reference in the city’s gastronomy scene, offering flavors and tastes with carefully selected raw materials from all over Greece and especially Macedonia.

The restaurant’s hall with the open kitchen offers panoramic views to Thermaikos gulf and Mount Olympus. In the summer, the restaurant’s Salonica Garden resembles an elegant garden on the sea.”

The legendary five-star Makedonia Palace is Thessaloniki’s first luxury hotel established in 1971. Following an ambitious renovation project, the hotel aims to further enhance its services and support the development of tourism in Thessaloniki and the wider region.
