European Committee of the Regions Elects Attica Governor as its Vice President
Attica Governor George Patoulis has been elected Vice President and head of the Greek delegation at the European Committee of the Regions for the 2020-2025 period.
Patoulis also serves as Vice President of the Association of Greek Regions (ENPE).
“During this critical period, local communities across Europe must work together to create a framework of common policies and strategies that will expand the development prospects of European cities… The Region of Attica will play a leading role in the efforts to expand the relations and collaboration between Europe’s local authorities, and achieve the necessary reforms,” Patoulis said after his election.

The new Vice President also congratulated Central Macedonia Governor Apostolos Tzitzikostas for being elected President of the European Committee of the Regions.
“Tzitzikostas is the first Greek to be elected President of the Committee during the organization’s 26-year history… Our election honors Greece and recognizes our everyday efforts to enhance local communities’ role in their development prospects,” he said.
