No Public Transport in Athens on Tuesday

Public transport workers in Athens have announced their participation in a 24-hour strike on Tuesday, February 18.

The action, which will immobilize the Athens metro, the ISAP electric railway, the tram, buses and trolleys, is to protest the government’s social security bill.

Citing the new bill, the Urban Rail Transport Company STASY said that the Greek government has not kept its promises to increase pensions.

The Panhellenic Sailor Association (PENEN) also announced that it will hold a 24-hour strike on Tuesday at Piraeus Port in all ship categories.

Travelers that have booked ferry tickets are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information.
