The trail network on Amorgos will soon be upgraded with the addition of new signs, as part of efforts being made to further develop hiking tourism on the Cycladic island.

Known for its wild nature and mountainous areas, Amorgos currently offers a diverse network of hiking trails covering all experience levels.

Aiming to preserve and improve this network, the Municipality of Amorgos recently approved the design of the new signs – a project budgeted at 31,514 euros.

Furthermore, according to naxospress.gr, the Municipality plans to place special Braille signs in a central location in Amorgos’ main town offering information for the visually impaired.

The new signage will be available in Greek and English.

Signs are an integral part of trail networks, operating as an orientation tool for visitors, also ensuring their safety while safeguarding the protected areas of a destination.
