Ukraine International Airlines Jet Crashes in Iran
Α Boeing-737 of Ukraine International Airlines (UIA), on Wednesday morning crashed in Iran, killing all people on board.
Flight PS752 to Kiev, went down shortly after its take off from the Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.
According to preliminary data, there were 167 passengers and 9 crew members on board.
UIA has announced that it will suspend its flights to Tehran until further notice.
“UIA, in close cooperation with the aviation authorities, takes all measures to determine the causes of the air accident,” the announcement said.
The flight was operated on a Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft, which was built in 2016 and delivered directly to the airline from the manufacturer. The last scheduled maintenance of the aircraft took place on 6 January, 2020.
“Investigation will be conducted with the involvement of the aviation authorities of Ukraine, Iran, representatives of the Boeing manufacturer, the airline, and the National Bureau of Air Accidents Investigation of Ukraine,” UIA said.
