The City of Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau (ACVB) recently hosted 15 Chinese MICE professionals in the Greek capital during a familiarization (fam) trip organized to attract more conferences and events to the city.
The hosted professionals came from Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing and represented leading MICE corporations and associations.
During their stay in Athens they had the opportunity to discover its MICE offerings, as well as get in touch with Greek tourism entrepreneurs and ACVB members active in MICE travel.
“Through scheduled B2B meetings, Greek and Chinese professionals exchanged information and expressed their mutual interest in developing future partnerships,” ACVB said in an announcement.
“Opening up to major international markets, such as the Chinese, is among the main goals of the City of Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau.”
ACVB also aims to bring quality conferences to the Greek capital that will promote the city to the international market.
During the fam trip, the Chinese visitors also had the chance to visit conference venues and hotel facilities; tour some of Athens’ most beautiful areas, and get to know the city’s cultural identity.
