Greece’s Q3 Turnover Index in Accommodation & Food Service Rising

Greece’s overall year-on-year turnover index in accommodation and food service in the third quarter (Q3) of 2019 increased by 6.1 percent against the same period in 2018, according to data released Monday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
The findings also found that the index for the corresponding period of 2018 had grown by 9.2 percent compared to the same period in 2017.
Meanwhile, the Q3 turnover index in the accommodation services sector increased by 4.3 percent compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018.
With regard to quarter-on-quarter growth, the overall turnover index in Q3 2019 marked an 88.5 percent rise against the same period in 2018, with an 80.6 percent increase recorded when comparing the corresponding period of 2017, which reflects the intense seasonality of the sector.
The food services sector marked a 10 percent rise in Q3 2019 against a 14.4 percent increase in the same quarter in 2018 against 2017 and a 52.1 percent rise compared to Q2 and Q3 2019 performance.
