Italian carrier Alitalia recorded a 5 percent increase in passenger revenues in November, compared to the same month in 2018, and a 13.7 percent increase compared to November 2017.
According to an announcement by the airline, the number of passengers it carried also increased in November by 1.5 percent compared to the same period in 2018, and by 6.1 percent against November 2017.
In November 2019 Alitalia carried a total of 1,676,868 passengers with a load factor equal to 77 percent, up by 3.2 percentage points against the same month of 2018.
In the first eleven months of 2019, passenger revenues increased by 1.6 percent compared to the same period in 2018 and by 8.8 percent against the first eleven months of 2017.
The intercontinental sector, that reached in November the 25th consecutive month of revenue increase, continues to drive the overall growth.
In the eleventh month of 2019, Alitalia recorded a 8.9 percent increase in long-haul revenues versus November 2018, and an increase by 20.6 per cent versus November 2017.
Furthermore, during the January-November 2019 period long-haul revenues increased by 4.9 percent compared to the same period of 2018, and by 14.5 percent versus the first eleven months of 2017.
Passengers on long-haul routes (214,161 travelers carried on intercontinental flights in November) saw a growth by 7.4 percent versus the same month of 2018 and by 14 percent compared to November 2017.
