A number of the Peloponnese Region’s landmark sites are scheduled to undergo restoration or renovation works after their inclusion in the coming months in the EU’s 2014-2020 NSRF funding program for culture, local authorities announced.

Culture Minister Lina Mendoni met with Peloponnese Regional Governor Panagiotis Nikas and the deputy governors of the Peloponnese’s five regional units and agreed on a list of sites to be funded through the NSRF.

“Culture is a development tool for the economy,” said Mendoni, adding that the aim is to restore, showcase, promote and open up the region’s exceptional monuments.

It would be great if the castle at Methoni could be included too. But if that’s not possible, it’s so good to see that the beautiful Koroni Castle will be getting financial help from the EU.
