Germany to be Country of Honor at Thessaloniki Int’l Fair 2020
German Ambassador to Greece Ernst Reichel recently unveiled the official logo of Germany’s participation in the 85th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) as the honored country for 2020.
The 85th TIF will take place in the northern Greek city between September 5-13, 2020.
The logo was presented on the sidelines of a forum titled, “Innovation as a growth lever – A Greek-German cooperation”, which was recently held at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in Athens by the German Embassy in Athens and the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The logo’s design was assigned to graphic designer Ioulia Vittou by Dojo Entertainvents, and depicts Thessaloniki’s White Tower with colors from the two countries’ flags, under twelve stars that symbolize the European Union.
According to an announcement, during the 85th TIF, Germany will present its dynamic economy and achievements in science and innovation; its ability to attract specialized manpower, as well as solutions for SMEs.
The concept and design of Germany’s exhibition space has been developed by Düsseldorf-based firm “gtp2 architekten” and is based on the idea of the “experiential landscape”.
German companies will present their offerings in an exhibition area of 6,000 sq.m., while visitors will have the opportunity to explore different sectors of the German economy including employment, health, nutrition, mobility, smart cities, startups, environment and energy.
Furthermore, Germany’s participation will feature a stage for cultural events, the “German Lounge” for B2B meetings and an open kitchen for gastronomy events.
Among Germany’s Greece-based organizations to participate in the fair are the German Schools of Athens and Thessaloniki, the Goethe Institut, Deutsche Welle and the German-Greek Assembly.
The 85th TIF will coincide with Germany’s European Council Presidency during the second half of 2020.
