Athens Day Cruise: ‘We Sail 365 Days a Year’
Greek naval company Athens Day Cruise took part in this year’s World Travel Market (WTM) trade show in London and presented its one-day cruise product to travel professionals from all over the world. The product includes a daily excursion to three Greek islands in the Saronic Gulf.
“Our aim at WTM London, one of the most important trade shows of the industry, is to make our one-day cruise product more known to travel professionals and inform them on the VIP amenities we provide,” the company’s sales manager, John Kounoupiotis, told GTP Headlines on the sidelines of the exhibition.
“We want them to know that the one-day cruise does not stop, but it operates every day and all year round… What professionals must know is that even if summer ends, we do not go away in the winter. We are here all 365 days of the year,” Kounoupiotis said.
Athens Day Cruise departs daily from Faliro and offers guests in the Greek capital a day cruise on spacious, 3-deck vessels to the three islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina.
Once on board, guests can enjoy traditional Greek music and international favourites from a live orchestra, and participate in a number of activites such as Greek dance lessons.
Regarding the menu of Athens Day Cruise, it is full of Greek local products.
While the company is trying to make itself more known in the UK market, Athens Day Cruise already has a big fan base from markets including France, Latin America, the US, Japan, Korea and India.
In regards to Greek travelers, Kounoupiotis said that they mainly take the one-day cruise in May, June and July.
“As opposed to our foreign guests, the Greeks have the mentality that cruising in only done in the summer, something which is not the case. We invite them to give the one-day cruise a try in the winter. They will not regret it,” he added.
Athens Day Cruise is a consortium between Hydraiki Naval Company and Evermore Cruises, two leading shipping companies in Athens.
