Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki Promotes its Sustainable Practices at Philoxenia 2019

The Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki shared its special message for the significance of sustainable development in tourism, during the 35th Philoxenia International Exhibition 2019 that was recently held in the northern Greek city.

The hotel’s stand was designed in a way that aimed to reflect the corporate environmental practices adopted by Regency Entertainment and Hyatt. Its construction also coincided with the company’s decision to eliminate single-use bottles in the rooms of all its hotel units worldwide until June 2021.

The stand was created by Interform under the supervision of the Tsakalou company and the A.C. Laskaridis Charitable Foundation, with recyclable and reusable materials, and included special infrastructure for recycling.

It also offered the opportunity to Philoxenia’s guests to charge their cell phones and fill their bottles from a special eco-friendly source of drinkable water.

During the expo, Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki’s executives held over 50 meetings with hosted buyers and tourism professionals from Greece and abroad, active in the fields of leisure tourism, corporate meetings, conferences, incentive trips and events (MICE).

The Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki is located near the Makedonia International Airport, next to the Regency Casino Thessaloniki and only minutes away from the city center.

This year, the hotel celebrated 20 years of operation and is carrying out a major investment project, worth 3.5 million euros that includes the refurbishment of its rooms and public areas.

Regency Entertainment recently celebrated 25 years of business activities in Greece. The group employees 2,000 people in the Regency Casino Thessaloniki, the Regency Casino Mont Parnes in Athens, and the Hyatt Regency Hotel Thessaloniki.
