German-Greek Chamber: 50 Job Openings in Hotel Sector
Fifty new job openings in the hotel market were announced this week by the German-Greek Chamber of Industry and Commerce as part of its DUAL Hellas initiative.
Formed in 2012, DUAL Hellas is a vocational training project run by the chamber in collaboration with Greek and German institutions.
The program, which includes theoretical and laboratory training in areas of specialization until March, and in-company training during the summer – including six months full pay, benefits and insurance – is set to begin in November.
Additionally, this year, the TUI Care Foundation will also be covering the cost of three-year studies for 20 young people aged 18-24 from vulnerable social groups.
Interested parties can choose from three occupational areas: hotel employee, restaurant specialist, cook.
The DUAL Hellas program taps into the Chamber’s experience gained through its participation in the MENDI Dual Education pilot project, which trained some 145 young people, 92 percent of whom currently work in well-known hotel businesses.
Meanwhile, students who have completed their three-year training program are eligible to sit exams in order to obtain an occupation certificate recognized by the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK).
The DUAL Hellas Training Center also offers a year-long postgraduate programs.
