Grecotel Announces €60m Hotel Upgrade Scheme
Keeping abreast of the ongoing developments in the accommodation sector, Greek hospitality giant Grecotel Hotels & Resorts (of the Daskalantonakis Group) announced this week the launch of a new 60-million-euro investment program in third-generation hotel units.
The group also aims to modernize and extend existing facilities.
The new investment comes after a series of renovation and upgrade projects carried out on Crete, Corfu, Rhodes, and in the Peloponnese, and Halkidiki budgeted at 62 million euros.
Over the last 15 years, the N Daskaloantonakis Group has invested 500 million euros in its facilities across Greece, while also reducing its prices.
The group’s Riviera Olympia & Aqua Park in the Peloponnese, is also undergoing extensive renovation works marking its 15 years of operation this year.
Meanwhile, the group also announced plans for the Lux Me White Palace in Rethymno, Crete – one of its popular Lux Me concept series hotels. Aiming for 2020, plans include enhanced products and upgraded hotel infrastructure, including new theme restaurants, the addition of five pools, and refurbished spa services, among others.
The group’s Lux Me series offers a comprehensive luxury holiday experience complete with the best in high-end gastronomy, accommodation, amenities, services and personalized care.
Founded in 1975, the N Daskalantonakis – Grecotel group operates 32 4- and 5-star units and resorts across Greece with a capacity of 6,300 rooms hosting 2,000,000 overnight stays a year.
The group, which employs 6,500 people, accounts for 4 percent of the Greek hospitality market, according to ICAP data.
