Creta Maris Holds ‘Tree Preservation Day’ Event for its Guests

As part of its social responsibility program, the Creta Maris Beach Resort on Crete, recently held a “Tree Preservation Day” event with the participation of its guests and employees.

According to an announcement, the resort’s Green Team, which consists of volunteers – employees and guests – was informed about the benefits of whitewashing the tree trunks, a method often used by Greek tree growers and home gardeners to protect fruit and ornamental trees from pests and sun-scald.

The guests whitewashed the resort’s tree trunks and took care of the plants.

They also received information on Crera Maris’ sustainability program and ways to protect the environment. They were then guided through the gardens of Creta Maris, which include unique species of plants and trees – typical examples of Crete’s flora.

“Our guests were impressed and felt lucky to have had the opportunity to get familiar with Cretan flora and participate in traditional gardening activities,” the resort’s management said.
