The G & A Mamidakis Foundation, on July 13-14, will hold the second edition of the “blueFest Crete 19 | Culture & Beyond”, a two-day festival that aims to promote Greece’s cultural heritage and the works of Greek artists.
“The festival features art and gastronomy events in one of the most beautiful areas of Crete,” the foundation said in an announcement.
The first day of “blueFest Crete 19” is dedicated to art and includes the opening of an art exhibition titled, “Come with the wind”, featuring an installation by artist Theodoros Zafeiropoulos and architect Giorgos Rimenidis.
The festival’s first day will also include the opening of the exhibition, “Blue Nights”, curated by the foundation’s artistic director Sotiris Bachtsetzis, and the screening of art videos in the outdoor areas of the Minos Beach art hotel.
It will conclude with the live music show, “Radiotherapy”, by composer Nikos Ksinos.
Cretan tradition and gastronomy
Local gastronomy and products will take center stage during the festival’s second day.
LoveGreece.com, an initiative of the G & A Mamidakis Foundation that aims to promote Greek entrepreneurs, has collaborated with the consultant chef of bluegr Hotels & Resorts, Giannis Baxevanis, to showcase Crete’s culinary offerings and tradition.
Among the products to be presented at the Minos Beach art hotel are Cretan olive oil, dairy products, pastry and pasta.
The second day will wrap up with the presentation of live short interviews of selected Cretan producers that will be shown and promoted through LoveGreece.com’s website and social media channels.
