The Cookoo Comfort Food, an all-day cafe bar restaurant located on the ground floor of the Mediterranean Palace hotel, has just opened its doors and aims to become the new meeting point for Thessaloniki’s residents and visitors.

“Cookoo combines luxury service with a friendly and casual mood… Its traditional and modern cuisine invites you to taste rich Mediterranean dishes with fine Greek ingredients as well as select international dishes,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

Visitors can start the day with an aromatic coffee, a healthy Greek breakfast or a delicious brunch with poached eggs, bacon, feta cheese, mushrooms, spinach on fluffy brioche and Hollandaise sauce.

The restaurant’s culinary options also include sour frumenty soup (known as trahana in Greece) with Greek traditional spicy sausage and feta cheese mousse; grilled meat balls of Greek buffalo minced meat from Kerkini’s farm stuffed with gruyere; grilled salmon fillet with caramelized avocado; grilled rib-eye steak with parsnip or panzerotti with a variety of mushrooms; braised veal cheeks and “Arseniko” cheese.

Cookoo’s international and Greek cuisine is paired with fine wines.

Also important is the restaurants’s lighting. There are three large glass windows that allow natural light to enter the interior. During summer, the windows stay open, allowing Cookoo to expand its facilities to the exterior pedestrian zone.

In addition, its artificial lighting varies from bright in the early morning hours, to atmospheric in the evening.

The Mediterranean Palace is located in the heart of the commercial and business center of Thessaloniki, near the port and next to the historic district of Ladadika, one of the most beautiful areas of the northern city.

The hotel offers five-star accommodation and magnificent views of the Thermaikos Gulf.
