TUI is Atlantica’s joint venture partner and the new resort is part of TUI’s ongoing expansion strategy to strengthen its high-margin hotel segment.
“As per the joint venture agreement, Atlantica is the exclusive partner in Greece and Cyprus and is committed to support TUI Group’s strategy for further growth,” Atlantica Group Assistant Marketing Manager Andria Theodorides told GTP Headlines.
The joint venture between Atlantica and TUI was established in November 2001.
Atlantica Hotels & Resorts Looks for New Projects in Greece
A leading hotel company in Greece and the biggest owned hotel chain company in Cyprus, Atlantica currently runs 33 hotels in Greece on destinations including Rhodes, Kos, Crete, Corfu and Zakynthos.
“Atlantica has a very ambitious growth plan which will be followed very closely,” Theodorides said, adding that the island of Kos features further opportunities for the company to invest.
According to Theodorides, Atlantica is actively looking for new projects in Crete, Corfu, Zakynthos and Peloponnese. Atlantica is also increasing its hotel portfolio by adding three more properties in Cyprus.
Atlantica operates the largest amount of concepts within TUI’s program in Greece and is the only Cypriot hospitality company that is a member of the leading travel group and operates in Cyprus, Greece and Egypt with 50 hotels.

Regarding the opening of the new TUI SENSIMAR Atlantica Belvedere Resort & Spa, Theodorides said that bookings are proceeding on a very satisfying pace for the hotel’s first season.
“The resort is seeing very high booking numbers all the way until September,” she said.
The TUI SENSIMAR Atlantica Belvedere Resort & Spa opened in May after a partial renovation project was completed. It will operate until October and then close for further renovation works to take place.
Theodorides underlined that the Atlantica Belvedere resort is designed to appeal to an adults-only audience and offer an unforgettable holiday experience.
In addition to its 238 rooms, the resort also includes a conference center, a lagoon-style infinity pool, sea-facing bar and restaurant and a number of sports and entertainment options.
Meanwhile, the high-end spa is one of the resort’s major calling cards with its relaxation pool, salon and hammam.
The resort also offers an all-inclusive option for visitors.
The TUI SENSIMAR Atlantica Belvedere Resort & Spa is located around 11 kilometers from Kos International Airport “Hippocrates”, 31 kilometers from the island’s main town and 4 kilometers from the village of Kardamena.
