Wyndham and Zeus International Debut in Greek Islands with Hotel on Crete

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and its partner in Greece Zeus International made their debut in the Greek islands with the opening of the five-star Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay in Agios Nikolaos on Crete.

The hotel’s grand opening was celebrated on Saturday with a big party that included Greek music and a display of impressive fireworks, in the presence of guests from the Greek travel, tourism and media sectors.

Zeus International, a leading Greek hotel management and consulting company, manages the hotel under a franchise agreement with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

“Over the past couple of years Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has gone from opening our first hotel in Greece, Wyndham Grand Athens, together with our esteemed partners at Zeus, to today having a growing portfolio of hotels across the country – which now also includes our first hotel in the Greek islands,” Dimitris Manikis, President and Managing Director for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in EMEA said during the event.

The property was acquired by Zeus International from the Mamidakis Group last summer, before undergoing an extensive renovation and re-opening as Wyndham Grand.

“We are very proud to add to the Zeus International family a jewel-hotel in the famous Elounda area of Crete, in cooperation with the most upgraded brand of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts,” Charis Siganos, CEO of Zeus International, said.

Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay is a full-service seaside resort and meetings destination located minutes from Agios Nikolaos in the famed Elounda region of Crete.

“Our vision is Wyndham Grand Mirabello to be one of the leading destinations in the Mediterranean for both leisure and MICE, having already carried out an extensive investment with 12 new conference rooms and a continuous renovation plan in all rooms and public areas the hotel which will be completed until 2020,” Siganos added.

The hotel has 311 guest rooms, over 1800 square meters of meeting space, five restaurants and bars with unique surroundings, swimming pools, a spa, a gym, as well as a variety of sports facilities including tennis courts, a basketball court, beach volleyball and also a private marina for luxurious boats, a mini club for children and a wide variety of water sports for visitors of all ages.

The grand opening event of the Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay was jointly hosted by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts and Zeus International and welcomed guests from across Greece’s travel, tourism and press sectors.

During the party, guests had the opportunity to tour the hotel’s facilities, including the Thea lobby bar, new deluxe guest rooms, conference rooms, and unique restaurants and bars.

The party kicked off with live folklore Greek music and canapes prepared by the hotel’s experienced chef, Kostas Nanos, and concluded with an impressive fireworks display and dancing until the early hours.

The hotel’s setting, on the beach with a private marina, together with the spectacular sea view certainly impressed all who attended.
