Ethiopian Airlines Launches Flights to 20th Destination in Europe
Ethiopian Airlines, a leading carrier in Africa, has announced the launch of a thrice weekly flight from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to Marseille, France, as of July 2.
Marseilles marks Ethiopian’s 20th destination in Europe.
“It gives us great pleasure to launch flights to Marseilles, connecting France’s second largest city to the over 60 African destinations we serve through our hub Addis Ababa,” said Ethiopian Airlines Group CEO Tewolde GebreMariam.
Ethiopian Airlines’ flight ET 0734 will be departing from Addis Ababa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 11.45pm to arrive in Marseilles at 5.45am the next day.
Furthermore, the return flight ET 0735 will be departing from Marseilles on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 11.05pm to arrive in Addis Ababa at 6.35am.
Ethiopian has been flying to Paris since 1971. It is currently serving 120 international destinations across five continents. Furthermore, the airline is currently implementing a 15-year strategic plan called “Vision 2025” that will see it become the leading aviation group in Africa.
“The connectivity we are establishing between Europe and Africa is facilitating trade, investment, tourism and people-to-people ties. As we forge ahead on the path of growth and success as envisioned in ‘Vision 2025’, we will keep on opening new routes to all corners of the world bringing Africa even closer to the rest of the world,” GebreMariam said.
According to an announcement, Ethiopian plans to bring the number of passenger flights to European cities to 61 per week.
