The Funky Gourmet summer Pop-Up restaurant at Costa Navarino will bring a 2 Michelin Star dining experience in Messinia, Peloponnese
This summer, Costa Navarino in southwest Peloponnese, will enhance its extensive culinary offering, through an exciting new partnership with the Athens-based Funky Gourmet restaurant.
According to an announcement, for the first time in Greece, a restaurant awarded with 2 Michelin stars will operate outside of Athens, in the stunning location of the brand new, earth-sheltered clubhouse at the Navarino Bay resort area, in Costa Navarino.
The Funky Gourmet Pop-Up restaurant will operate from July 8 to August 17 and be open for dinner Monday to Saturday (7pm to 12am).
Overlooking the historic bay with spectacular sunset vistas, the multi-awarded Chefs Georgianna Hiliadaki and Nikos Roussos will “accompany” foodies on an exciting gastronomic journey, offering a degustation menu of Avant Garde Messinian–Greek cuisine.
Local ingredients and traditions will be brought to life, combining the high-quality raw materials of the region with avant-garde cooking techniques and a unique presentation, transforming the guests’ dinner into an unconventional culinary experience.
This unique menu will come alive with colors, aromas and flavours, composing a delicious canvas that will appeal to all senses and elevate the Messinian gastronomy to new sensory heights.
“We couldn’t help but grab the opportunity to create a menu based on products sourced in the rich Messinian land. We consider the Messinian diet to be a gastronomic landmark of the Greek culinary heritage,” the Funky Gourmet Chefs, Georgianna and Nikos, commented.
Overlooking the Ionian Sea and surrounded by olive groves, Navarino Dunes at Costa Navarino is home to 21 venues that offer a wide gastronomy offering, including traditional and modern Greek, Mediterranean and ethnic cuisine among others. With an emphasis on fresh local produce, the restaurants utilize freshly cultivated vegetables and herbs from the gardens at Navarino Dunes, alongside the destination’s extra virgin olive-oil from its centuries-old olive groves.
