Afitis Boutique Hotel in Halkidiki Celebrates 50 Years of Family Heritage
“We aim to offer our customers an experience of a lifetime that includes personalized VIP services and value for money, which is what today’s luxury tourist looks for.” – Melior Resorts CEO Athanasios Voevodas
The Afitis Boutique Hotel, a member of the Melior Resorts chain and located in a sublime setting in Halkidiki, northern Greece, is celebrating its 50-year anniversary this year.
“Afitis is one of the most historic brands in Greece and we are formally marking half a century of business,” Melior Resorts CEO Athanasios Voevodas told GTP Headlines on the sidelines of the recent ITB Berlin 2019 trade show in Germany.
The deluxe property, ideal for discerning travelers, first opened its doors in 1969 and today sets new standards of design and lifestyle where elegance and luxury meet a new level of five-star accommodation.
“This is a family effort that begun in the 1960s and today we are very proud of the fact that, with the same passion, we continue the efforts we started several years ago… We hope to complete another 50 years having created brands that will be preferred by our clientele,” Voevodas said.
Located near the Blue flag Lagoon coast, the resort boasts 50 unique chic and cozy rooms, housed in one of four separated buildings. Each room is meticulously decorated with signature design and exudes a lifestyle character offering breathtaking views across palm trees.
First ‘Boutique Hotel’ in Halkidiki
Afitis is also the very first and only resort in Halkidiki that has been certified with the official “Boutique Hotel” seal, as part of a program launched by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels that is addressed to Greek accommodation units that fulfill the requirements of being designated as boutique hotels.
“This recognition comes as a reward for our efforts all these years of trying to establish a culture and mentality that really differentiates the standards of hospitality and service for visitors that choose to spend their holidays at Afitis,” Voevodas said.

He also added that the hotel is among the top preferences of German, Austrian and Swiss travelers in Halkidiki.
“We aim to offer our customers an experience of a lifetime that includes personalized VIP services and value for money, which is what today’s luxury tourist is looks for,” Voevodas told GTP Headlines.
