Attica Region, Hotel Chamber Join Forces for Tourism
The Region of Attica and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) announced this week that they have joined forces in tourism after signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
The agreement signed by Attica Governor Rena Dourou, HCH President Alexandros Vassilikos and the head of the Institute for Tourism Research and Forecasts (ITEP) Konstantina Svinou, foresees cooperation towards the development and promotion of tourism options in the Attica Region and the enhancement of the tourist experience.
“In the past years, we have for the first time taken a holistic approach to the visibility of Attica whether it is via of a coherent strategic plan for its promotion or the establishment of the Attica Film Office. Our synergy today comes in this context, aiming to move ahead with the tourist development of Attica… with planning, coordination and the cooperation of all stakeholders involved,” said Dourou.
According to the regional authority, the collaboration aims to tap into the region’s human resources, implement a far-reaching strategy that will ensure sustainable development, foster the exchange of know-how and best practices, and improve the overall traveler experience.
At the same time, priorities include introducing Attica options abroad, among these promoting the region as a leading scientific conferences destination, showcasing its wide range of cultural products – such as the Athens Marathon and the Elefsina Cultural Capital 2021 events – with the cooperation of municipal authorities and bodies, and tapping into digital marketing strategies via the region’s site. www.athensattica.com.
